      Solid, reliable, and fuel-efficient car

by Orion on 12/30/2025 6:26:33 PM

I have owned this car for a little over three years. It has been reliable - the only things that needed replacement were the wheel bearings and the bulbs for the headlights. Three out of the four wheel bearings went out within a year of one another. The headlight bulbs only last about 9-10 months for some reason. I have read that this is pretty common with the Prius. The fuel mileage has been exceptional in the summer time, averaging around 45 mpg. During the winter months of northern Minnesota the gas mileage drops to around 40 mpg. The road noise is above average - it helps to use tires that are designed to run quietly. Luckily, I have found a set of summer tires made by Goodyear and a set of winter tires made by Falken that are very quiet. The car has nearly 200K miles, and still runs and drives well.
